June 8th Storm Chase

Today’s chase started around 2pm when a bow echo line of severe storms was moving into Martinsville, Va. I headed north to intercept the storms near Yanceyville, NC. I ended up chasing a beautiful storm line that had severe thunderstorm warnings through Caswell, Person, and Durham counties until around 5pm EST. These are photographs of my chase as I attempted to stay in front of the storm line. Visit my photography page for this chase. I will have video up in a few days. More and more models are showing a Tropical Storm in the Gulf of Mexico in a few days, so we will be watching that closely.SCM
