Whalesmouth Clouds
Tonight the severe storms exploded over the central North Carolina region with multiple counties going under severe thunderstorm warnings. Penny sized hail was the main storm report for the evening. While getting ready for dinner the gust front approached my house with this amazing display of "whalesmouth" clouds. I hope you enjoy these pictures.

Gust fronts are among my favorite storm events. I love the way the seem to come alive and "boil". Must be nice to have severe weather. I have forgotten what thunder sounds like...
