Central North Carolina is currently being engulfed in deep tropical moisture as a stationary front to our west is stalled out over the Appalachian Mountains, while tropical moisture is being pushed up from the Southeast. Yesterday saw some massive amounts of rain that led to severe flooding across the state. Areas along the I85 corridor from Greensboro to Charlotte received over 7"-8" of rain. The lightning last night lasted for hours. The overcast skies all day from the moisture didn't lend itself well to shooting photography or video. This evening we had some storms move in from the Southeast at Sunset. I went out and shot some pictures as the sun was setting between 7:30 and 8:30pm. Here are the pictures.
