Wilma Headed for Florida?

TD.24 is really starting to get the attention of the West Florida coastline today. Climatology tells us that most tropical systems in the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean tend to move North. The NHC forecast track now has TD.24 becoming Wilma later today, then crossing over the Western tip of Cuba. At this point, a front will be coming in from the West and is forecast to pick up the storm and move it across Florida into the Atlantic. Early estimates for Florida landfall have it hitting anywhere from Port Charlotte up to Tampa as a Cat 2-3 hurricane next weekend. Stay tuned. 2005 is far from over.
