TD.16 has now formed off the East Coast of Florida and is scheduled to become a Tropical Storm by this evening. If this does happen it will be named "Ophelia". Low level circulation can clearly be seen on the Miami Radar loop. The NHC has issued Tropical Strom Warnings up the East Coast of Florida. The storm is forecast to move over the very warm gulf stream waters the next 2-3 days and needs to be watched closely. The SHIPS model has this storm becoming hurricane strength before affecting central Florida and the East Coast. Stay tuned.
