Katrina Oil Rig Damage

In the aftermath of Katrina we saw a lot of pictures of the damage in NOLA and on the Gulf Coast, but curiously we never saw any damage pics of the Oil Rigs off the coastline. The politicians assured everyone that the rigs were fine and suffered no damage. Gas prices then went thru the roof. Here are some of the first pics I have seen of the Shell Mars Platform, one of the largest in the Gulf. Just as a point of reference, the yellow round columns are 66 feet in diameter.

Before Katrina.

After Katrina.

Don't expect gas prices to go down anytime soon.
