It's 12:30am and Katrina continues to track in a NNW direction putting New Orleans in the NE quadrant of this Category 5 Hurricane. Katrina is about 5-6 hours from landfall with 155+mph winds. It doesn't look like there will be much weakening and the track is unlikely to change. History will be made over the next 6-8 hours. I think it is safe to say that tonight will be the scariest night in the lives of the people in the path of this monster. Am I going to sleep tonight? No way.
PS: Don't look in the mid-Atlantic, but we now have
TD13 and a potential East Coast Hurricane in 7-10 days.
