Here are some scenes from around the Norfolk, Va area during the Coastal Flood Warning and High Wind Warning that took place today. A major flood event is forecast for 4am on Tuesday morning, which we will cover. The high pressure from the west has started to move in this evening. This has increased the pressure gradient and winds are really cranking up. With these Northerly winds pushing water down the Chesapeake Bay towards the Norfolk coast, major flooding is ahead at high tide.
