First Views of Cameron, LA

Cameron, Louisiana had the right front quadrant of Rita impact their area at approximately 3am on Saturday morning. This is the first picture I have found of how that area now looks. I'm so tired of the news saying that Rita wasn't "that bad". Katrina continues to be the benchmark for this hurricane to be measured against and if it doesn't live up to that storm, then it wasn't a disaster. Tell that to the people who lived there. If this storm had come ashore just south of Galveston, rest assured this storm would have been covered totally differently by the news. Let's be thankful this storm did hit an area that was much more unpopulated. For those who lived there it was a terrifying storm.

Wow. I'm not sure what I am looking at. Did that used to be some sort of housing development?

I agree with you, I watched the news all weekend waiting for pictures like this and they never showed them.
