No Mas in the Gulf

It is hard to imagine another hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico right now, but we all need to realize that we still have 3 weeks left in the peak of hurricane season. This morning we have 2 tropical waves we need to watch. 99L.Invest is currently a mid level low pressure system in south of Hispanolia. Track models and intensity models show this system becoming tropical in the next 120 hours. We also have a large tropical wave coming off the coast of Africa. We will keep an eye on these systems over the next few days to see if they develop into low level pressure systems. Current wind shear environments and sea surface temperatures in the western Caribbean are favorable for development.
