More Pictures

The tropics are still quiet and may be for a couple more weeks. A subtropical ridge (TUTT) is shearing almost all of the storms apart before they make it to the Windward Islands. In addition, the amount of african dust off the Cape Verde islands is very strong and every system that comes off the coast of Africa is quickly drying out and dissipating. We will keep an eye on it. As promised, here are some more storm pictures from August 16th. Note the picture of our neighbors tree that got split by a lightning strike. The tree is about 20 yards from our house and we could see the sparks fly when the tree was hit. That is way too close for comfort. Fortunately the only thing our neighbor lost was their answering machine. Enjoy the pics.
